I am asking every woman in central Maine to not vote for Mike Perkins for state Senate. I recently asked Mr. Perkins if he supports making the law reflect my rights as a woman and making me equal to men in the eyes of the law. Mr. Perkins might be genuine when he tells me that he sees his wife as his equal, but he will not commit to ensuring that we are equal in the eyes of the law.

I personally do not care if my husband, or Mr. Perkins “see me as equal.” What I do care about is if the law sees me as an equal, and Mr. Perkins sadly will not commit to making the law reflect that I am indeed equal to him under the law. I won’t vote for him and neither should you.
