The body of a Vinalhaven man last seen Oct. 13 was recovered Tuesday afternoon by members of the Maine Warden Service dive team.
The family of Owen Adair, 31, of Vinalhaven, reported him missing on Monday after finding his ATV near Folly Pond in Vinalhaven, according to a release from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Family members also found Adair’s boots and an aluminum canoe containing his belongings next to the pond.
Divers began searching Folly Pond early Tuesday morning and located the body using a camera-equipped submersible remotely operated vehicle in about 10 feet of water around noon Tuesday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy.
Folly Pond is part of Vinalhaven’s Watershed Preserve.
