This letter is in support of David LaFountain for Senate District 16. I am writing because I would like to set the record straight.
In his campaign visits, Mr. LaFountain’s opponent has made statements that former Fire Chief LaFountain was let go by the city of Waterville. That is a lie.
As city manager for 16 years in Waterville, I had the good fortune to hire David LaFountain as our chief and I was there when he decided to retire. That was his decision and his decision alone. The city was very happy with his work as our chief and never would have asked him to leave.
I am voting for David LaFountain for Senate because I know him to be a man of honesty and integrity. It is a sad commentary on politics today when people have to rely on just the opposite to get elected.
