When David LaFountain married my Aunt Lee Ann over 40 years ago, I only knew that he was “stealing” my favorite aunt. I also knew he loomed over me at 6-foot-4 and had a great big, booming laugh. And he put out fires.
As a young single woman, I soon discovered how kind and selfless Dave can be. Alone with a toddler and little money, Auntie Lee and Uncle Dave were always there for me. Dave helped to fix up a space to live in, helped me with my car repairs, and entertained my little boy for hours while Lee babysat. As a mom of LGBT+ kids, I have always known that Dave loves and accepts them, and wants what is best for his nieces and nephews.
David represents my own political beliefs, but it is a joy to be able to vote for someone whose character I can personally attest to!
