RICHMOND — Dalton St. Hilaire scored a first-half goal and the North Yarmouth Academy boys soccer team held on to sink Richmond 2-0 in a Class D South quarterfinal round victory Thursday afternoon.
The No. 5 Panthers (8-7-0) went up 2-0 on a Richmond own goal. The fourth-seeded Bobcats finished 10-4-1.
MT. ABRAM 2, HALL-DALE 0: The second-seeded Roadrunners’ (14-1) defense held the No. 7 Bulldogs (6-6-3) to just one shot on goal in a Class C South quarterfinal victory in Salem.
Bear Rollins tallied two assists for Mt. Abram, setting up Morgan Thibodeau and Sam Cockerham for goals.
Trey Reed and Logan Dube combined to secure the shutout in goal for the Roadrunners, with Dube stopping the only shot on goal of the game for Hall-Dale. Bulldogs goalie Jackson Leach made 12 saves.
TRAIP ACADEMY 2, MARANACOOK 0: The fifth-seeded Rangers (12-3) struck for a pair of goals just two minutes apart midway through the second half to beat the fourth-seeded Black Bears (9-4-1) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Readfield.
Traip advances to play No. 1 Waynflete.
FIELD HOCKEY
MCI 2, MT. VIEW 1: Trinity Leavitt scored twice as the Huskies (11-3-1) defeated the Mustangs (4-7-4) in a Class C North quarterfinal at Pittsfield.
Jenessa Foster and Ella Bernier assisted for MCI, while keeper Chi Chi Rivera made five saves.
Sydney Bishop scored for Mt. View, assisted by Hannah McIntosh. Ella Sawyer made nine saves in goal.
