In the past weeks, we have received several mailings from the Corey Wilson campaign. They contain personal stories about what a good husband and father he is. Everyone, I’m sure, is delighted to hear those accolades. However there weren’t many specifics about what he proposes to do for us if elected.
We do know that Mr. Wilson served in the Legislature about 10 years ago as the representative from Augusta, so I decided to look up his record. While he served, he was the primary sponsor of a handful of bills. I don’t think any of them were for assistance for the elderly, more educational opportunities for students, assistance to schools or teachers, addressing the cost of prescription drugs, or providing better access to medical care.
These, however, are important priorities for most of us. That is why I will be voting for Tavis Hasenfus.
