WINSLOW — Jason Reynolds scored his 1,000th career point Tuesday as the Winslow boys basketball team defeated Maine Central Institute 80-44.

Reynolds finished with a game-high 36 points for the Black Raiders (2-0), who also got 16 points from Andrew Poulin and 13 rebounds from Matt Quirion. Reynolds made four 3-pointers.

Braeden Kennedy led MCI (0-2) with eight points.

 

MARANACOOK 68, LAKE REGION 62: Keagan McClure scored 17 points and Luke McLaughlin added 16 as the Black Bears (1-0) defeated the Lakers (1-1) in their season opener.

Brandon Chilton, Brayden St. Pierre and Brayden St. Pierre each added nine points for Maranacook.

Jackson Libby netted a game-high 23 points for Lake Region, followed by Jacob Chadbourne with 14.

 

MADISON 79, TELSTAR 38: Callen Franzose had a game-high 28 points for the Bulldogs in Bethel.

Charles Davis finished with 15 points for Madison (1-0).

Wyatt Lilly paced Telstar (0-1) with 12 points and Evan Leach finished with 10 points.

WINTHROP 79, WISCASSET 13: Cole Bard scored 15 points as the Ramblers (1-1) handled the Wolverines (0-1).

Braden Branagan and Carter Rivers each added 11 points for Winthrop.

Dylan Akers led Wiscasset (0-1) with 9 points.

BREWER 49, MESSALONSKEE 36: Allie Flagg scored 18 points as the Witches (1-0) defeated the Eagles (0-2).

Jillian Ford and Jenna McQuarrie added 10 points apiece for Brewer.

Ashley Mullin led Messalonskee with 15 points, while Kiera Goldsmith added 11 rebounds and four steals.

 

MCI 61, WINSLOW 27: Skyla Dean had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Huskies (2-0) defeated the Black Raiders (0-2).

Kayleigh Dunton led MCI with 14 points, and teammate Trinity Leavitt added 11.

Bethanny Blackley led Winslow with 11 points.
