RICHMOND — Angel Huntsman scored 31 points Thursday as the North Yarmouth Academy girls basketball team cruised to an 82-43 victory over Richmond.

Huntsman added three rebounds and four steals for North Yarmouth (7-0). The Panthers also got 16 points, five rebounds and four steals from Graca Bila and 10 points and three rebounds from Charlotte Harper-Cunningham.

Kara Briand and Izzy Stewart scored 12 points each for Richmond (6-2) with the former grabbing eight rebounds and the latter recording seven. Jayden Brillant added eight boards of her own for the Bobcats.

 

WELLS 58, OAK HILL 14: Maren Maxon scored 15 points as the Warriors won easily in Wales.

Cali Leighton added eight points for Wells (6-1). Ariana Thibeault led Oak Hill (0-6) with seven points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

 

TEMPLE ACADEMY 58, WISCASSET 28: Nate Corey and Peyton Reckards scored 23 points apiece as the Bereans (1-4) earned their first win of the season at Waterville.

Corey added 13 rebounds while Reckards pulled down seven. Teammate Gabe Young scored nine points.

Dylan Akers scored seven points for Wiscasset (0-6).

LAWRENCE 59, MESSALONSKEE 56: Dane Zawistowskie and Conner Nutting each scored 16 points to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A victory in Oakland.

Michael Hamlin added 13 points for Lawrence (5-3). Dan Parent scored 13 points to lead the Eagles (1-6).

 

DIRIGO 67, MT. ABRAM 65: Charlie Houghton scored a game-high 33 points as the Cougars stayed unbeaten with a tight win in Strong.

Nathaniel Wainwright (11 points) and Trent Holman (10 points) also finished in double figures for Dirigo (8-0). The Cougars trailed by four entering the third quarter before outscoring Mt. Abram 22-16 in the fourth.

Cam Frost-Grey scored 22 points for Mt. Abram (4-2). Kaden Pillsbury and Payton Mitchell added 18 points and 12 points, respectively.

 

RICHMOND 41, NYA 40: Hunter Mason had eight of his 14 points down the stretch as the Bobcats rallied past the host Panthers at Yarmouth.

Connor Vashon chipped in 11 points for Richmond (7-1), which outscored NYA 16-8 in the fourth quarter.

Nate Oney had 15 points, all from behind the arc, for NYA (3-5). Moses Semuhoza added 13 for the Panthers.

WELLS 58, OAK HILL 39: Kayden Springer scored eight of his 11 points in the first quarter, and Caden Dufort added 10 of his 13 points in the second as the Warriors took control against the Raiders in Wells.

Springer and Dufort combined for six 3-pointers. Spencer Carpenter scored 10 points for Wells (2-5), which led 18-6 after the first quarter and 35-16 at the half.

Maverick Swan led Oak Hill (1-6) with 10 points.

 

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 70, WINTHROP 31: Ian York scored 20 points as the Phoenix (7-1) won easily at Jay.

Jace Bessey added 19 points and Elie Timler 17 for Spruce Mountain.

Cole Bard led Winthrop (3-5) with eight points.
