SKOWHEGAN – Richard M. Hall, 84, passed away March 7, 2023, at Woodlawn Center in Skowhegan.

He was born March 11, 1938, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Maurice and Eleanor (Kane) Hall. He attended school in Norridgewock and graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1956.

On June 25, 1955, he married Joanne Franck in Skowhegan. He was a life-long shoemaker. He started at Norridgewock Shoe Company, worked for years, and retired from Dexter Shoe Company.

Richard enjoyed golf, skiing (both downhill and water), traveling, music, hiking, biking, walking, shooting pool, playing cribbage, and entertaining his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne (Franck) Hall of Skowhegan; daughters Suzanne Belanger and husband David of Skowhegan and Toni Ynes and husband Kenny of Tampa, Fla., sons Marc Hall of Durham, N.C., Rick Hall and wife Christy of Colchester, Vt., Stephen Hall of Tampa, Fla., Mike Hall and wife Sonia of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Dinny Wark, brother, Tony Hall; lots of grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Richard will be remembered for his love for his family and his kindness to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. at T & B’s Celebration Center in Skowhegan.
