AUGUSTA — In commemoration of The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Michael School plans to hold a special Rosary event and May crowning at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the 24 Washington Ave. school in Augusta.

“Our second graders organize it for the whole school,” said Kevin Cullen, principal at St. Michael, according to a news release from Dave Guthro, communications director, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland. “Grades 2-8 will be at St. Mary of the Assumption Church doing it in person, and it will be live streamed as well so our pre-kindergarteners and first graders can follow along at school.”

Following the Rosary, the students will lead a May Crowning ceremony at the church.

The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is Saturday, May 13.

More than 50 Rosary gatherings are planned around Maine to celebrate the event.
