PITTSFIELD — Kassie Snowman allowed threw a one-hitter as the Maine Central Institute softball team defeated Mount View 10-0 in five innings on Thursday.
Snowman recorded eight strikeouts, walked two batters and hit one for the Huskies (7-4).
MCI’s Hannah Robinson went 3 for 4, including a fifth-inning triple that ended in a Mustang error to end the game, and scored three runs. Teammates Trinity Leavitt and Skyla Dean each had two hits and a run scored, and Kayleigh Dunton scored three times.
Mount View is 3-10.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 12, BANGOR 3: Ashley Deschamp and Eliza Pattershall paced a Black Bears (5-3) attack that featured seven different scorers in the win in Readfield.
Deschamp scored four goals and added an assist and Pattershall tallied three goals and an assist. Addie Watson, Lily Caban, Emerson Davis, Xanthe Sawlivich and Alex Stewart each notched a goal, while Davis, Sawlivich, Watson and Hadley Farwell all provided assists. Stella Lauter made three saves and Mavia Lenane made another.
Kiersten Daigle scored twice and Marie Komedja also found the back of the net for Bangor (3-6). Sadie D’Alessio tallied two assists and Adella Mabee had one. Hulda Mattsen stopped 12 shots.
