The Lynne Deeves Trio will perform in the Poland Spring Preservation Sunset Concert Series at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24 at the gazebo at the Poland Spring Inn in Poland.

Three award-winning, singer-songwriters: Lynn Deeves, Trina Hamlin and Colleen Sexton will be on tour together in Maine during late July, 2023 spreading their good vibes and great harmonies.

Maine singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lynn Deeves honed her stage and vocal skills on the New England high energy, rock club circuit of the 1980’s and 90’s. Her soulful vocals and easeful presence on stage have long-captivated audiences around the Northeast and beyond. Deeves has released 5 independent CD’s and has shared stages with Cheryl Wheeler, Ellis Paul, Ferron, America and many others. Portland Press Herald says “…five star stage presence…this gal’s got  a set of pipes… .”

With a rich, powerful voice, Trina Hamlin seamlessly moves from guitar to piano to self-accompaniment on harmonica. She has toured the U.S. and Europe, with her trademark driving, rhythmic, blues and rock-infused songs/grooves. Hamlin earned a degree in professional music from Berklee College in Boston and has been a guest on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien and her music has been featured on popular television shows on the WB, Lifetime, CBS, ABC and MTV. She has shared stages with Taj Mahal, Charlie Musslewhite, John Hiatt and Rickie Lee Jones, to name a few.

Colleen Sexton combines the sweet sounds of the front porch in summer with the soul of a vintage Harlem night, she delivers the goods. Critics have described her performance as “smoldering, sincere, and captivating” and her songs as “intelligent” and “passionate.” Colleen has engaged listeners in clubs, coffeehouses, colleges and festivals. Her CD “Greatest Find” features guest appearances by brother Martin Sexton, Cliff Eberhardt, and Janis Ian. Colleen garnered two Boston Music Award nominations, putting her among the elite of Boston songwriters. Her song “Dear Arlene” appears on the Respond compilation CD, which Billboard Magazine’s editor named the number one album of 1999.

Admission is $5 per person. The gate opens at 6 p.m. Chairs are available or bring your own or a picnic blanket. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Poland Spring Inn. The Poland Spring Inn is located at 640 Maine St., Poland. Complimentary water is provided by the Poland Spring Bottling Company.

The series serves as a fundraiser to support the group’s mission to preserve and restore two historic buildings: the All Souls Chapel and Maine State Building.
