BREMEN — Mid-Coast Audubon is hosting its annual lobster bake fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Hog Island Audubon camp in Bremen.
Members of the Mid-Coast Audubon board of directors will display their cooking talents and be available to answer bird questions.
A $75 donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, potato and corn all baked over an open fire, plus chowder, clams, onions, lemonade, coffee and a special dessert. In addition, participants may explore the island before or after eating, according to a news release from the Damariscotta-based organization.
Tickets are available online at midcoast.maineaudubon.org. Only 80 tickets will be sold.

The boat will depart at 10 a.m. from the Audubon dock at the end of Keene Neck Road in Bremen (for those who wish to hike the island), and at 11 am. Participants may birdwatch, take a hike, swim, watch board members build the fire and construct the lobster bake on the beach, or just beachcomb around the island until 12:30 p.m. when the lobsters will be served. The boats will ferry guests back at 2 and 3:30 p.m.
