Nokomis would like nothing more than to get back on track following the shutout loss to a solid Medomak squad, and a home game against a depleted Winslow team might just provide that opportunity.

Outlook: The defending champion River Hawks have found the start of the season to be an uphill climb. Skowhegan needs improvement on both sides of the ball, particularly on offense, as the River Hawks have not scored a point in their first two games. Bangor, which opened the season with a crossover win over Lawrence, will look to get back on track after a loss to Windham last week.

Outlook: It’s another big game for the Eagles, who could gain some early separation from the pack in Class B North with a win over the Rams. Cony got some offensive momentum going in last week’s weather-shortened victory over Skowhegan and will look to Morin and Sergent to test a Messalonskee secondary that’s recorded seven interceptions in two games.

Outlook: After a bitter loss to Bangor to start the season, Lawrence had bright moments on both sides of the ball in a bounceback victory over Falmouth. The Bulldogs, who forced four turnovers against the Navigators, will look to build on that defensive success tonight as they travel to face a young Mt. Blue team that’s still looking to find a rhythm offensively.

Outlook: It will be interesting to see who starts at quarterback for Gardiner after Nagy replaced Chase Burgess under center late in the first quarter against Messalonskee. Falmouth, meanwhile, is desperate for a win after being outscored 74-16 in what’s been an unexpected 0-2 start to the season and will count on Backman to rack up some big yardage on the ground.

Outlook: It’s the first meeting in 17 years between the Bulldogs and Huskies, who are in the same class and region for the first time since the 2006 meeting. After both teams lost by the narrowest of margins in Week 2, one of them will walk away with a well-deserved win here. Expect big things from the Kennedy-Shorey and Strout-Giddings connections in the passing game.

Outlook: The Ramblers are coming off a wild shootout against the Huskies last weekend. Branagan has proven to be a weapon at QB so far for Winthrop. He’ll need to be at his best yet again for this week’s matchup. The Warriors fell to rival York in a crossover, but started the year off with a 31-0 win over Oak Hill in Week 1. Wells has several backs that can break loose at any time, and Fox has shown a strong arm early in the season.

The Purple Panthers have won all four of those matchups, and a defense that’s yet to allow a point yet this season will look to make it a fifth tomorrow against a Shipbuilders team that’s been a mixed bag in its first two games.

Meanwhile, the Black Bears defense has allowed just 12 points. They should have little trouble with a young Traip squad, led behind center by Jordan, a sophomore.

Martin is a playmaker on both sides of the ball for Telstar.
