CAMDEN — State Horticulturist Gary Fish plans to give a free talk to the Camden Garden Club from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at St. Thomas’ Church, 33 Chestnut St.
Fish, who grew up in Farmington, will speak on recent developments regarding pests in the garden. He will review the club’s routine garden pest inspection best practices and help attendees understand topics such as jumping worms and mile-a-minute weeds, according to a news release from Mary Miller with the club.
Fish, a landscape and nature photographer, has been state horticulturist since 2015 and manager of Pesticide Programs for the Board of Pesticides Control.
He has been a practicing licensed professional forester since 1985 and is former chair of the Arborist Board.
