DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library at 42 Main St. has announced several activities for this fall.
Preschool story-time, which resumed Sept. 11, is set for 10:30-11:30 a.m. every Monday, with the exception of holidays and school vacations. Children are read stories, and then experience a craft based on the day’s theme, followed by a healthy snack. All preschoolers are welcome to attend.
An adult reading group meets once a month to discuss a book, then hear recommendations and select the next book for the group. The next meeting runs from 3-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, and the book selection is “A Fever in the Heartland” by Timothy Egan. Coffee and snacks are served, and new members are welcome.
A new social activity at the library is a knitting group. No special skill level is required, but there are experienced knitters who can offer advice or help with a problem. The next meeting dates are at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, and Mondays Oct. 9 and 30.
A newly-formed writers’ group is meeting monthly. At the first meeting a facilitator led the group in a 15-minute writing exercise, which they shared and discussed. Adults interested in writing are invited to attend the meetings from 3-4 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 25 and Oct. 23.
All the adult activities are held in the library’s downstairs community room, which can be accessed by elevator.
For information about any of the activities, call the library at 207-562-8838.
