You and I are bombarded with advertisements telling us to vote no on Question 3. All are paid for by CMP and Versant, who have so far spent more than $34 million.

Together they took $187 million in profits last year, all originating from our monthly payments. So of course their shareholders want you to vote no.

Wouldn’t you, instead, prefer that that money stay in Maine to build a bigger, better and more reliable electric utility? Most of the people already employed locally with CMP and Versant would keep their jobs. And the money, now disappearing as profit, would stay here in Maine to pay them better.

If that’s what you want, vote yes on Question 3.
