Voting for local officials is a satisfying act. We know that there aren’t hidden big-money interests behind our candidates, and nobody is getting rich off running. It’s public service at its finest. We often know our candidates personally, and if they have served before we know their records and how they conduct themselves.

This is why I support George LaPointe for reelection as Hallowell’s mayor. George is a listener, a consensus builder and an effective leader with a proven track record (check out georgelapointeformayor.com for a list of accomplishments) and, he is fair and open minded. He has the temperament and the skills to keep Hallowell the vibrant community it is, and to meet the challenges it faces.
