I was surprised to receive a flyer in the mail from mayoral candidate Matthew Boulerice claiming that he will “craft responsible city budgets. This is surprising to me, as the mayor cannot and does not craft the city budget. The mayor presents the budget that was crafted by the city manager to the council and then the mayor may veto what the council decides to do with that budget.

Boulerice shouldn’t be misleading the people about what he will be doing as mayor. Perhaps he should understand the role of mayor better before asking people to support him in that role.
