I have lived in Hallowell for 33 years and appreciate it when great people step up for public service. One who stands out is George LaPointe, who is running for reelection as Hallowell mayor. George loves this city and is tireless about helping our people and businesses. He is as committed to the downtown businesses as he is to every other part of Hallowell, and is always available to help, whether in promoting diversity and equity for our people, helping put chairs out (and back) on the waterfront, cleaning up after weather events, or finding solutions to citywide problems.
Arts and culture are important to families in Hallowell, and he knows the importance of enhancing arts and culture opportunities. As a lifelong teacher and now, working in the private sector, I know how critical it is to have strong and effective leadership. George LaPointe has earned a second term as mayor.
