Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association presents their production of “Jekyll and Hyde,” a 1990 musical loosely based on the 1886 novella “The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Norway Grange in Norway. Additional performances will be presented through Sunday, Nov. 19
Originally conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, it features music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Leslie Bricusse and lyrics by all of them. After a world premiere run in Houston, Texas, the musical embarked on a national tour of the United States prior to its Broadway debut in 1997.
Directed by Jon and Rachel Potter, “Jekyll and Hyde” has a cast of 15 including Rylee Papworth as Emma, Janelle Raven as Lucy, and Sean Buchanan as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.
Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18; and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 19. Tickets are available online at OHMPAA.com or at the Tribune, 430 Main Street, Norway (cash/check only). $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. Opening night is $6 for all.
