WATERVILLE — For the second consecutive year, the Advanced Dance Composition and Performance class from Maine Arts Academy of Augusta performed as part of Colby College’s annual Break Burn Build fall dance concert in Waterville.
The eight students that participated — Emily Carlton, Lillian Conry, Jade DeWitt, Juliann Emery, Holly Lindeman, Haley Pottle, Lilah Ramirez and Patrick Robinson — worked on creative movement exercises and improvisational exercises in order to contribute choreographic ideas, according to a news release from Diane Manter at the academy.
As part of this process, students were able to attend a tour of Colby’s new Gordon Center for Performing and Creative Arts as well as take technique and warm-up classes with Colby students from professional faculty members before their technical and dress rehearsals.
