Mt. Vernon Elementary School recently held a grand opening for the school’s Little Free Game Library.
The library was inspired by Jay Bright’s Little Free Library in Florence, Mass., funded with a grant from the Maranacook Education Foundation, and built by an elementary school grandparent Greg Hatt Sr., according to a news release from Principal Michelle Hood.
Mount Vernon has a rich tradition of sharing resources in order to better the community. The Mt. Vernon Elementary Little Free Game Library will build upon that tradition by offering games to families to play at home and return when they are done. From classics such as Yahtzee to newer games like Countalope, the games will help foster a love of math and provide a fun way for families to spend more time together.
