Never have I been so incensed by an editorial contributor than this person who thinks our police personnel are a bunch of cowards milking the system for a fat paycheck (“The Maine Millennial: The thin blue line has melted into a puddle,” Dec. 3).

Keeping in mind that these are men and women that would like to return home to their wives, husbands and children when their shift is over, this privileged citizen feels its cowardly to roam an area where an armed killer is about deserves her derision. How easy is it for her to shelter while others sacrifice themselves for her comfort. Perhaps she was inconvenienced  because this madman was on the loose?

There is not enough money offered for me to risk my life for what our police are asked to do.

As such, I will no longer buy a Central Maine newspaper as long as this ignorant fool contributes to your editorial pages. Maybe if she is more exposed to how violent the real world is she might appreciate those who put their lives on the line every day need to deal with.
