BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Robert Anderson Gould, affectionately known as “Andy”, passed away peacefully at his home in Brooksville, Fla., on Dec. 14, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1957, in Farmington to John and Dorothy Gould. He was 66 years old at the time of his passing.
Andy led a remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. After graduating from Skowhegan Area high school, class of 1975, Andy enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent three years stationed at Fort Dix. This experience instilled in him a strong sense of duty and discipline, shaping the man he became. Andy took up welding after his military service, earning his welding certificate from EMVTI. He was a very skilled and well-respected welder, dedicating over 20 years of his career to Cianbro Corp. Throughout his tenure, he mentored many younger craftsmen, passing on his knowledge and expertise.
Outside of his professional life, Andy was a devoted family man who cherished his role as a husband, father, and, especially in later years, “Pop Pop”. He was known for his loving and caring nature, always putting his loved ones first. With a great sense of humor and a vibrant personality, Andy was often the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He had a perfectionist streak and was a diligent worker, never one to sit still. He found solace in being outdoors and tinkering in his garage, always seeking new projects to keep himself busy. Andy particularly enjoyed golfing and relaxing by the pool, yet he had a passion for embarking on road trips, exploring new places and creating cherished memories.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Donna Lee Gould. He leaves behind his son, Kleber Gould (Rebecca), and his daughter, Spring Gould; his brothers, James Gould (Donna), Timothy Gould (Joni), and Ronald Gould, as well as his sisters Jane Wallace (Ken) and Patricia Libby (Steve), will forever cherish the memories they shared with Andy. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Harlow, Avery, and Grey Gould. Countless loving in-laws, friends, and extended family members mourn the loss of this affectionate family man.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Gould, and his parents-in-law, Kleber and Beverly Greene. Their memory will always be cherished and held dear.
Andy’s departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable individual, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
