AUGUSTA — Capital Area Technical Center has named Isaiah Schleis-Hooyman of Augusta, a senior at Cony High School, as the Professional of the Month for December.

Schleis-Hooyman, a second-year student in the Computer Technology program, has consistently showcased exceptional skills and commitment, according to a news release from the center.

Embracing the diverse opportunities within the program, he has delved into programming, game design and 3-D animation, showcasing a remarkable range of talents. Last year, he demonstrated his prowess at SkillsUSA, and he anticipates further competitions this year. Schleis-Hooyman contributes to the technical environment, assisting with IT issues and contributing to the maintenance of laptops at the center.

According to his instructor, Mike Fraser, “Isaiah is a model student who, as a second-year participant, has evolved into a classroom exemplar. His consistent attendance, unwavering willingness to follow instructions, and positive daily demeanor set a standard for his peers. Isaiah’s positive influence extends beyond his academic achievements, with his continuous progress, evident as he embarks on his third college course and pursues a second certification.”

Schleis-Hooyman’s post-graduation plans include enlisting in a branch of the U.S. military.
