SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan boys basketball got the win. But Gardiner didn’t make it easy.
Marcus Christopher scored 23 points, helping the Indians hold off a Tigers rally and hang on for a 54-52 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A victory Thursday night.
Matush Prokop scored eight points while Jimmy Reed and Chase Carey added seven for Skowhegan (5-7).
Logan Carleton scored 30 points for Gardiner, which outscored the Indians 19-10 in the fourth quarter. Casey Gallagher scored nine for the Tigers (1-11).
CONY 80, LAWRENCE 79: Dakota Dearborn scored 22 points and Simon McCormick notched 21, leading the Rams to a come-from-behind KVAC A victory over a red-hot Nick Robertson and the Bulldogs in Fairfield.
Cony (9-3) trailed Lawrence 59-48 going into the fourth, but scored 32 points in the quarter to sneak away with the win. Kyle Douin and Ian Bowers added eight points apiece.
Robertson hit six 3-pointers and scored 30 points for Lawrence (5-6), while Jackson Dudley had 14 points and Adam Duprey scored 12 for the Bulldogs.
WINSLOW 59, MOUNT VIEW 38: Justin LaFlamme scored 24 points and added five assists, guiding the Black Raiders to a KVAC B victory in Winslow.
Colby Pomeroy added 10 points and Jacob Bisson chipped in six for Winslow (6-6).
Sean Raven’s 10 points and Draedyn Furrow’s eight led Mount View (1-10).
ERSKINE 69, BELFAST 39: Braden Soule scored 22 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing five assists, leading the Eagles to the KVAC victory in South China.
Dagan Savage added 11 points and Jacob Mortimer scored nine for the Eagles (7-5), and Jacob Praul grabbed 12 rebounds while scoring six points.
Jason Bartlett led the Lions (2-10) with 10 points.
VALLEY 65, PINE TREE ACADEMY 44: Joey Thomas scored 18 points and Keegan Farnham added 16 to help the Cavaliers (8-4) earn an East/West Conference victory in Bingham.
Thomas added five assists for Valley, while Farnham had six assists and five rebounds. Zach Walter had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Chris Amisi had 17 points for the Breakers (3-8), while Grant Milano scored 16.
MT. ABRAM 52, MADISON 38: The Roadrunners exploded for a 24-point fourth quarter en route to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Madison.
Nate Luce had 16 points to lead Mt. Abram, while Hunter Warren added 13 more.
Thomas Dean paced Madison with a 10-point night. Both teams are now 5-7.
BOOTHBAY 82, OAK HILL 40: Five scorers in double digits helped the Seahawks (10-1) take an MVC victory in Wales.
Steve Reny had 14 points, while Hunter Crocker and Kaleb Ames scored 12 apiece. Sullivan Rice and Benjamin Pearce added 11 and 10, respectively.
Gavin Rawstron scored 31 points for the Raiders (3-8).
DIRIGO 61, CARRABEC 27: Jeremy St. Germain scored 29 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Dirigo rolled to an MVC victory on Thursday.
Chandler Redmond added eight points for the Cougars (5-6).
Hunter Tewskbury led the Cobras (0-12) with 10 points and Nik Dube had nine.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
WINSLOW 51, MOUNT VIEW 27: Silver Clukey knocked down four 3-pointers on her way to 18 points, leading the Black Raiders to a KVAC Class B road victory in Thorndike.
Weslee Littlefield and Maeghan Bernard added eight points apiece for Winslow (9-3), while Littlefield and Paige Trask each grabbed six rebounds.
Shala Davis led the Mustangs (2-8) with eight points.
MT. BLUE 53, LEAVITT 30: Mt. Blue added onto its eight-point lead at halftime to run away with the KVAC win in Farmington.
Lexi Mittelstadt led all scorers with 13, including three treys for Mt. Blue (5-6). Jacelyn Daggett chipped in 12 in the win.
Kayleigh Gilbert scored 10 points to pace Leavitt (4-7).
