It was with amazement that I read the op-ed from former Maine Senate President Mike Thibodeau (“Where are the boundaries in American politics?,” column,” Jan. 11).
In three columns of text Thibodeau manages to criticize both Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by name eight times — three for Tlaib and five for Pelosi. He mentions Donald Trump only once, and not a word about Paul LePage.
Thibodeau mentioned hypocrisy only once, and seems unaware of how that concept applies to his own writing. I don’t remember Thibodeau writing a column about “unacceptable rhetoric” or “vile statements” made by either Trump or LePage — despite having had so many opportunities to do so over the past eight years.
