AUGUSTA — Police arrested an Augusta man on Saturday afternoon in connection with Friday’s armed robbery at Big Apple on Stone Street.
Police say Justyn Wilson, 20, was one of multiple suspects that could have been involved in the incident and Augusta Police Department’s investigation is ongoing.
Suspects in the robbery allegedly threatened the use of a weapon and then took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“(There) may have been more than one suspect involved, and therefore we are still seeking the identity and whereabouts of those person(s),” Deputy Chief Kevin Lully said in a Sunday morning release. “We are asking anyone with information to come forward and reach out to the Augusta Police Department.”
According to police logs, Wilson was arrested on a charge of robbery after he was found on Oxford Street around 3:41 a.m. on Saturday.
Around 12:10 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of armed robbery from Big Apple at 36 Stone St., according to a Friday afternoon news release from Deputy Chief Kevin Lully.
“According the caller, unidentified suspect(s) entered the store, threatened the use of a weapon and demanded an undisclosed amount of money,” Lully said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 626-2370, ext. 3418. The release also encourages people to use the department’s free “Tip411, Augusta Maine Police” app to report anonymous tips.
The same store was robbed in March 2014, August 2015 and June 2016.
