Details: Lanny and her twin sister Tracy competed together on the 2006 Olympic team. Though Lanny had fallen ill and missed the qualifying races for the 2014 team, her sister Tracy performed well enough to earn a spot on the team, then ceded her position so that Lanny could compete in Sochi.

Maine connection: Barnes has trained at the Maine Winter Sports Center.
