WATERVILLE — A man stabbed twice in the back early Sunday on Spring Street remained Monday at Maine Medical Center in Portland and police are investigating the incident, according to Deputy police Chief Charles Rumsey.
Michael Reed, 26, of Waterville was struck on the head with a piece of wood and stabbed in the back during a fight around 1:30 a.m. Sunday,  police said.
No arrests had been made in the case as of early Monday evening, Rumsey said. Detective Alan Perkins is investigating the case, tracking down witnesses and interviewing those involved, according to Rumsey.
“He needs to interview Mr. Reed,” he said. “We’ve got some good leads that we’re following up on…”
