WATERVILLE — The city is utilizing its downtown winter parking ban for the second straight night.
Vehicles downtown and in The Concourse must be moved from midnight to 6 a.m. Thursday as public works crews continues to clean up snow and ice from Tuesday’s pesky winter storm.
“We let the crew go pretty close to quitting time yesterday, and we weren’t able to get everything picked up, mostly on Main Street and The Concourse,” Waterville Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Matt Skehan said. “We thought we could do a fair job cleaning up yesterday, but we just couldn’t because the storm ran too long.”
During a winter parking ban, overnight parking is permitted at the municipal parking lot at Head of Falls. Personnel, equipment and materials are sufficient.
“We’ll be able to get it all cleaned up tonight overnight,” Skehan said. “We’re in good shape all the way around.”
