50 Years Ago: 1971
“In Your Easter Bonnet With All the Frills Upon It” will be the theme song Wednesday afternoon when residents of the Marcotte Nursing Home form an Easter parade to show off their crazy hats. Prizes will be awarded for the funniest, most original, prettiest and ugliest and serving as judges will be Mrs. Aurele Guerrette, Mrs. Lucien Therriauit, Mrs. Alberte Sasseville, Mrs. Alfred Leblanc and Mrs. William Lauze, all officers of Les Marchandes de Bonheur. The party will get underway at the auditorium of the home at 1:30 and a luncheon will be served during the afternoon. Sister Daignault will provide piano accompaniment for the parade and a musical program will be presented under the direction of Sister Jeannine Fleuetie.
25 Years Ago: 1996
The Lewiston Regional Technical) School will have a prom fashion show, sponsored by the DECA Marketing Club, Thursday at Lewiston Middle School. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Admission will be $3. Proceeds will benefit DECA students with scholarship and will contribute toward the Class of ’97 Project Graduation.
