LIVERMORE FALLS — The “Fall into Books” program is back at Treat Memorial Library, 56 Main St.
Each time patrons check out books they earn a chance to win a book in December. The more books read, the more chances earned. The library has books for children, teens, and adults, so everyone gets to play this fall.
Meanwhile, patrons can check out The Book Was Better Tuesdays in September on Facebook and tell staff which movie adaptations are favorites.
Online Story Time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook. The staff will share some of their favorite picture books, rhymes, and songs.
See what the staff has been reading lately by watching the Bonkers for Books series on Facebook. Everything from biography to graphic novel to picture books will be recommended. Bonkers for Books will be Saturdays, Sept. 4 and 18.
The library’s Zoom Book Club meets at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. Its Books about Books theme continues with “The Lions of Fifth Avenue” by Fiona Davis, historical fiction about a series of thefts from the New York Public Library. Ask a staff member for a copy of the book up for discussion and a Zoom invite.
Because of all those who participated in the library’s Summer Reading Program: Tails and Tales, including its Mystery of the Cat Burglar, the staff has donated an item to the local food bank for every book or hour that’s read this summer.
The library will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Treat Memorial Library is open without requiring an appointment. The staff requests that patrons still wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated, are unable to be vaccinated, or are otherwise medically vulnerable, and limit time to 30 minutes if possible. Curbside service will still be available.
