The Jefferson Historical Society plans to hold its last 2021 open house from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7 Gardiner Road, at the intersection of Bunker Hill and Gardiner Roads.
There will be displays on all three floors of the treasured old building. A few of the featured displays in the Old Jefferson Town House are several albums of photographs of houses, buildings and families, minutes from town meetings in 1819 and 1820 related to the vote for Maine statehood, many tools and domestic utensils, and the quilt made by Jefferson women for the 1976 bicentennial.
Because of the surge of the Delta variant, volunteers and visitors will be masked before entering the building, regardless of vaccination status.
The 2022 calendar of vintage photographs will be available for $10. Earlier years cost $5. Each year has a different collection of photos. Other local history books and memorabilia will be available.
