WATERVILLE — Taylor Doane scored the lone goal off a Hannah Hafenecker assist to lead the Waterville girls soccer team edge Belfast 1-0 in a Class B North game Wednesday afternoon.
Phoenix Gatlin had nine saves for the Purple Panthers (4-0-1). Ada Curry had four saves for Belfast (2-4-0).
BOYS SOCCER
RICHMOND 6, ST. DOM’S 0: Cole Alexander scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Bobcats on Tuesday.
Chance Taylor scored two goals and added an assist as well for the Bobcats.
Max Viselli also scored and had an assist. Connor Vashon had six saves to earn the shutout.
Connor Syr had nine saves for the Saints.
WINTHROP 5, DIRIGO 3: Tyler Shumway scored twice and had an assists for the Ramblers in the win in Winthrop.
Teddy Wagner had two goals and Iker Penniman had a goal and three assists for Winthrop (2-2-0). Jaxon August stopped eight shots in goal for the Ramblers.
Drew Collins notched two goals for Dirigo (1-4-0) and Mason Ducharme had one goal. Trenton Hutchinson had two assists. Loegan Hodgkins made 10 saves.
FIELD HOCKEY
OAK HILL 1, HALL-DALE 0: Cassie Steckino scored with 8:50 left in the second quarter to lift the Raiders to the MVC victory in Farmingdale.
Sierra Lane made two saves in goal for Oak Hill (3-4).
Kelsey Cormier stopped seven shots for the Bulldogs (1-4-2).
