HIRAM — Winnie LaRochelle’s double-double led the Rangeley girls basketball team to a 52-40 win over Sacopee Valley on Saturday.
LaRochelle scored 25 points, which included 11-of-16 shooting at the free-throw line, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Emily Eastlack added 19 points and seven assists for the Lakers (3-1).
Emma Boulanger was the leading scorer for the Hawks (1-7) with 10 points, and Keira Greene and Elyse Guptill added nine apiece.
KENTS HILL 60, DIRIGO 47: The Huskies built a lead in 2021 and held on to it in 2022, finishing off a victory over the Cougars in Dixifield in a game that was paused at halftime Dec. 14, 2021, due to COVID-19 issues.
Kents Hill led 33-19 when the game was halted. On Saturday, a month and a day later, the Cougars outscored the Huskies 28-27.
Fort Kent’s Logan McDonald topped all scorers with 22 points. Regina Sabirova added 15 for the Huskies (3-0), Rose Jenkins contributed 11 and Alanna Batchelder finished with 10.
Jayce Brophy and Grace Robbins led Dirigo (3-3) with 14 points apiece, and Alyvia Perreault scored 12.
FOREST HILLS 49, TEMPLE ACADEMY 42: Kylie Yu scored 16 points to lead the Tigers to a win over the Bereans in an East/West doubleheader in Waterville.
Grace Allen scored 14 points, while Peyton Chaisson added 11 points for Forest Hills (5-5).
Isabella Baker led Temple (1-5) with 23 points.

WATERVILLE 55, BELFAST 38: Nick Poulin scored 12 points to lead the Purple Panthers to their first win of the season, a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory over the Lions in Belfast.
Liam Von Oesen scored 11 points, while Spencer Minihan added 10 points or Waterville (1-9).
Belfast falls to 2-10.
FOREST HILLS 84, TEMPLE ACADEMY 42: Mason Desjardins scored 36 points to lead the Tigers to an East/West win over the Bereans in Waterville in the first game of a doubleheader.
Braiden Welch scored 18 points, while Jackman Daigle added 10 points for Forest Hills.
Nathan Corey led Temple (1-5) with 24 points.
FOREST HILLS 82, TEMPLE ACADEMY 45: Mason Desjardins scored 32 points to lead the Tigers to a win over the Berans in the second game of a doubleheader in Waterville.
Braiden Welch scored 19 points, while Cooper Daigle added 12 points for Forest Hills (11-0).
Nathan Corey led Temple (1-6) with 11 points.
DIRIGO 52, MT. ABRAM 43: Freshman Nathaniel Wainwright drained four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points in the Cougars’ (8-2) win over the Roadrunners (4-6) in Dixfield.
Three other Dirigo players scored in double figures: Trent Holman (three 3s) scored 11 points, and Charlie Houghton and Trenton Hutchinson each hit a pair of 3s and finished with 10 points. Thirty-six of the Cougars’ points came from twelve 3-pointers.
Adam Luce and Kaden Pillsbury scored 11 points apiece for Mt. Abram, and Payton Mitchell added nine.
SACOPEE VALLEY 60, RANGELEY 17: Ashton Day paced a balanced attack with 12 points, and the Hawks (1-9) held the Lakers (0-4) to six points through three quarters in a win at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
Carson Black added 10 points for Sacopee, which had 11 players score.
