The Central Maine Garden Club in Waterville has sponsored a community beautification program called Flowers, Flowers Everywhere.
This program aims to benefit Waterville, Winslow and surrounding communities from Rome to Windsor.
Grants will be awarded to volunteers involved in developing and maintaining flower gardens in their communities. The land used must be public property, with permission granted by the municipality.
Funding will be through donations with no municipal funds used. The municipality may be involved with some of the “heavy work” of digging, planting and watering, according to a news release from the club.
Awards are annual; gardeners may reapply each year. There is no set number of grants to be awarded.
Grant applications will be available in March; awards will be made in May.
For more information or to receive an application, contact the club on Facebook or send a request to Barbara Biche, 409 Evergreen Drive, Waterville, ME 04901.
Biche also can email bbiche816@gmail.com.
