The Maine Cheese Guild’s sixth annual Maine Cheese Festival is planned from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Manson Park, 51 Peltoma Ave. in Pittsfield; with two ticketing sessions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

This showcase of Maine artisan cheeses encourages attendees to taste and explore the vast array of superb Maine cheeses crafted from cow, goat, water buffalo and sheep milk. This is an opportunity to learn about the craft right from the makers, according to an event news release.

Attendees can sample and purchase nationally recognized cheeses from 20-plus small, artisanal, Maine cheese makers. An expanded beer garden will feature up to 14 vendors with a variety of Maine beer, wine and spirits.

Local food trucks will be open throughout the day. Additional vendors include foods that pair well with Maine cheese, like ferments, crackers, breads, jams and chutneys. Craft artisans include goat milk soaps, pottery and charcuterie boards.

Entertainment includes two live music tents featuring local performers like Seth Gallant and Rough Sawn, Suzie and the Smelts, and Shane McNear.

Tickets are available for advance purchasing only, starting June 1.
