GARDINER — Troop 672 celebrated its 90th birthday Aug. 15 by building a mini library for Christ Church Episcopal as a service project, according to Sarah Hubert, a parent of a Scout and Troop volunteer.
“The Scouts and leaders also built a bottle bin that is behind Christ Church for people to place their bagged returnables in as a way to raise funds for Troop activities,” Hubert said in a news release from Chuck Mahaleris, district vice chairman for the Kennebec Valley District of Scouting.
The Scouts and parents and leaders joined together for a potluck meal as a way to connect after a busy summer of Scouting activities.
Christ Church Episcopal is located at 2 Dresden St. in Gardiner.
Troop and Pack 672 plan to have an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Gardiner Commons. Scouts and leaders will be available to answer questions, and there will be yard games.
