FAIRFIELD — A resident of Hardwood Lane was arrested Thursday after agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency searched his home, seizing about $65,000 worth of fentanyl and cocaine, a Mercedes-Benz and $43,000 in suspected drug sale proceeds.
Justin Lacroix, 35, was taken to Somerset County Jail in East Madison where he was facing charges of aggravated trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine, according to a news release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. The charges are aggravated because of the amount of drugs involved, the release said.
The search and arrest were the result of a monthlong investigation by a MDEA task force into the sale of drugs from the Hardwood Lane home.
Hardwood Lane is off Davis Road, which runs between Norridgewock Road and Martin Stream Road.
“During the search of the home, agents located approximately 280 grams of fentanyl and 225 grams of cocaine, along with $43,000 in suspected drug proceeds,” the release said. “Also seized were a Mercedes-Benz automobile and a Chevrolet pickup truck.”
Assisting the MDEA in the investigation were the Maine State Police Tactical Team, Maine Probation and Parole, and Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
