I first met David LaFountain when I was mayor and he was the Waterville fire chief. He was always willing to talk with me, listen to my concerns, answer questions, and meet to discuss downtown fire safety issues. When he told me he was running for Senate, I was very happy to support him and offered to volunteer to work on his campaign.
While I appreciate his views on public education, revenue sharing to reduce property taxes, and the expansion of health care and mental health services, I am particularly excited to know that I will finally have a senator who understands the importance of reproductive freedom for women.
If you live in Waterville, Winslow, Oakland, Fairfield, or Albion, and care about the freedoms the Republican Party is promising to revoke, please join me in voting for David LaFountain for the Maine Senate.
