AUGUSTA —  Jordan Hoose had five hits as Oceanside defeated Cony 16-6 in the KVAC season opener for both teams Wednesday.

Maddie Ripley added two hits for the Mariners (1-0), and Hayley Tufts earned the win in the circle.

Torrie Webber and Olivia St Peter had two hits apiece for Cony (0-1).
