CAMDEN — State police arrested Charles “Reed” Black, 68, of Camden Friday night on a charge of aggravated assault.
The arrest follows a protection from abuse order filed Thursday by Black’s wife. Lisa Black, 52, claims her husband hit her in the head with a rock before pushing her over the 800-foot Maiden Cliff.
The couple fell from the cliff in Camden Hills State Park on April 7. Lisa Black staggered to a road to summon help. Wardens later located her husband, who has since been treated for his injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
When medical personnel discharged Charles Black from the hospital, authorities took him into custody.
