United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is accepting applications for its Packs for Progress initiative.

In its 11th year, the program offers backpacks filled with school supplies to area children, so they have the tools needed as they head back to school. This program is for children who attend school (pre-K through 12th grade) or live in Franklin County, Livermore and Livermore Falls.

Applications will be accepted through Aug. 9.
