SKOWHEGAN — Annabelle Morris scored two goals as the Skowhegan girls soccer team defeated Waterville 3-1 on Friday in the season opener for both teams.
Sarah Johnson had a goal and an assist for the River Hawks, while Elle Donahue and Allie Frey each added an assist.
Mara Von Oesen made 14 saves in net for Waterville (0-1) — and also scored her team’s goal.
HALL-DALE 1, MONMOUTH/WINTHROP 0: Hayden Madore scored with 2:43 left in double overtime as the Bulldogs took an early-season MVC clash in Monmouth.
Paula Clark provided the assist on the goal, and Audrey Gilbert made five saves for Hall-Dale.
June Foyt turned away 19 shots for the Mustangs (0-1).
ERSKINE ACADEMY 2, WINSLOW 1: Sadie Pierce and Brielle Crommett each had a goal and an assist as the Eagles (1-0) won their season opener in Winslow.
Jaelyn Seamon made four saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Kyri Meak scored for Winslow (0-1), while keeper Bella Loubier saved 18 shots.
OXFORD HILLS 3, MT. BLUE 1: Ella Pelletier had a hat trick for the Vikings (1-0) in a win at Farmington.
Pelletier had one goal in the first half and scored two more times in the second half. Maddie Miller had an assist on all three goals. Keeper Maddy Herrick had eight saves.
Mt. Blue (0-1) scored its goal in the second half.
BOYS SOCCER
ERSKINE ACADEMY 3, WINSLOW 2: Holden McKenny’s goal off a direct kick 3:12 into the second overtime lifted the Eagles (1-0) to a season-opening win in South China.
McKenney finished with two goals. Brody Worth and Andrew Perry also scored for Erskine.
Braden Rodrigue and Carter Calvo scored for Winslow (0-1). Winslow keeper Max Spicer had 17 saves, while Erskine’s Caleb Gay made 16.
