AUGUSTA — Market Square in downtown Augusta is seen in these photos taken on Thursday and in May 2013, from the windows of Macomber, Farr and Whitten at One Market Square.
The park, at Water and Winthrop streets across from the Olde Federal Building office complex on Water Street, has recently been renovated.
The May 2013 photo shows buses at the former KVCAP bus stop, which has been removed.
The centerpiece of the space is a 30,000-pound horse trough, previously located on at Winthrop and Water streets. It was moved by a crane into the park as part of renovation.
A plaque on the trough dedicates it to the memory of Joseph Baker and Orville Dewey Baker, and said it was presented to the City Of Augusta by the heirs of Orville Dewey Baker in 1909.
