The 118th annual reunion of the alumni of the Eaton, Norridgewock High School recetnly was held at the Congregational Church.
After the social hour, dinner was served by the church ladies for the 74 registered alumni and guests. The business meeting followed and recognition was given to the two oldest graduates attending, Edith Baird Blake, class of 1939, and Priscilla Emmons Daggett, class of 1941. Traveling the greatest distance was Sidney Emmons from Cuba, N.Y., class of 1949. The alumni announced that three Norridgewock students, Devin LaChapelle, Robert Noe and Jacob Violette will receive college scholarships. A moment of silence was held for the members who had passed away since the 2013 reunion.
A dedication of the Hamlin F. Eaton bench and plaque was held. The bench was placed on the grounds of the Norridgewock Historical Society building. Many alumni and friends donated funds needed to erect the bench and plaque to memorialize Hamlin F. Eaton. Following his service in the Civil War, Eaton founded the Eaton Family and Day School in 1865 serving students from six states and three foreign countries with a classical education.
