12:10 p.m., firefighters from Winthrop, Manchester and Monmouth responded to a fire that damaged a barn on Old Lewiston Road. The fire, which spread to the barn from a permitted burn, destroyed hay and damaged an outside wall of the barn, burning holes in a few places, according to Winthrop Fire Chief Dan Brooks. No injuries were reported.
