Voters in state Senate District 15 are blessed to have Rebecca Cornell du Houx, a Democrat from Augusta, running for office. She recently visited my house; we talked a long time.
We talked about the fears of the average Mainer, being two paychecks away from homeless or one illness away from bankruptcy. Rebecca’s approach to governance is a bottom-up approach, not the top-down approach of the current administration, which is not working.
Rebecca wishes to free Mainers of the fears that plague them: health care costs, poor wages and social inequity. She implicitly understands what it is like to struggle week to week. I felt in Rebecca the kindred soul of a hard-working Mainer. She believes in empowering the people of Maine. She will not sway to the winds of partisan politics or the tides of business as usual in Augusta. Rebecca du Houx — our fresh voice for District 15.
